Xavier Gordon is a pianist, producer, song writer and jazz musician currently located in Los Angeles, CA. His gift of music and hard work has led him to opportunities to collaborate and play with well-known artists in the music industry such as Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend and jazz greats Norman Brown and Kirk Whalum. He has also produced music for artists like Angie Stone, Puff Daddy and Musiq Soulchild, for which he earned a Grammy nomination in 2018.
Xavier was preparing to release his new EP entitled Excellence but he did not have a website where he could sell physical copies of his new album online and provide a central location for booking and where fans to learn more about him and stay connected.
Xavier did not want to utilize his previous logo design so I designed a new logo that was a bit more simplistic and better fit his target audience. Considering his target audience and the design direction for the album, the design for the website needed to be consistent, clean, and energetic but classy. Xavier did not want the standard all white background so the color scheme selected was one that coincided with the album art.
The completed website included products with shopping cart and secure check out, photo gallery, videos, a site-wide music player, contact form, and a responsive mobile-friendly design. Design also included image editing and graphic design for visual elements on the site. The site was developed on the Shopify platform, which makes it easy for Xavier’s record company to manage products and fulfill orders. Xavier’s EP Excellence debuted #2 on the ITunes jazz charts. So in addition to the website and branding, I developed banners that promoted the EP which can be found on smoothjazznetwork.com and iHeart Radio.
