The Ultimate Key To Success

The Struggle With Confidence Is Real

I’ve cried many tears throughout my entrepreneurial journey, but I had to dry my eye and use those tears as fuel to push me to make necessary changes. I had to learn that my frustrations came because of the one thing that I was lacking. It wasn’t skill or knowledge of my profession that I was lacking, it was confidence.

Confidence - The Ultimate Key To Success

There is no easy way to true success and fulfillment of one’s purpose, but there is an ultimate key to success that is guaranteed to get you there. It is call confidence. Not to be mistaken with pride, confidence is the assurance in who you are, your abilities and who you were created to be and what you were created to do. Confidence is much like faith because you can stand boldly knowing that what you pursue or what was promised to you shall be, even when it seems the odds are against you.

The Journey To Operating In Confidence

I was lacking the confidence in myself and the abilities that God blessed me with. I lacked confidence in knowing that my skillset is valuable. Confidence in knowing that I deserve to be paid fairly for my hard work. Confidence in knowing I am capable of servicing clients who value what I do and are willing and ready pay for it; and to even walk away from those who don’t. It was my own lack of confidence that was holding me back and hindering my progress and causing me to accept being treated unfairly.

The best way that I have found to overcome this stumbling block, was to pray and declare God’s truth about me to myself daily. Our words have power and God made that clear all throughout the Bible (Proverbs 23:7, Proverbs 18: 20-21, Mark 11:23, 1 Peter 3:10 and the list goes on) Whenever doubt or fear creeps up or someone tries to treat me like I am less than, I remind myself out loud who I am and whose I am. I remind myself of the progress I’ve made thus far, and reassure myself that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
